Veneered Points

Four African Blackwood points (dalbergia melanoxylon, Tanzania) with four veneers are spliced into a Birdseye maple front. The Blackwood butt is done in the Rambow style, with an ivory ring between the butt cap and the butt sleeve. The joint collars are Double-black phenolic and nickel silver. The joint collar is stainless steel. When viewed in bright light, the African Blackwood really shows a lot of grain. This is the wood that clarinets, oboes and other black horns are made of. It is, as the Latin name says, black rosewood and as such it plays great. Two shafts with ivory ferrules are provided with this cue.
